When is the first ultimate granted?
The first ultimate is granted at round 10. Both players receive the same random ultimate type at the same time. Re-grants happen at round 30, then every 20 rounds after that (R50, R70, R90...).
Ultimates in SolGun are limited-use power moves granted at fixed rounds (R10, R30, R50, R70 and every 20 rounds after). Both players always receive the same random ultimate type at each grant: ultimate_shield, ultimate_shot, or ultimate_reload. A new grant always replaces an unused ultimate and resets the used flag, so there is never any accumulation.
Because both players hold the same ultimate, every grant round becomes a guessing game: do I fire it now, hold for a counter, or use it as a bluff? The pages below dissect each type and walk through the most reliable counter-play patterns.

No. SolGun never accumulates ultimates. When the next grant round triggers, any unused ultimate is replaced and the used flag resets. This forces commitment and prevents single-use stockpiling that would skew late-game balance.
Ultimate shot penetrates shields, so do not shield. Best counter: ultimate shield (which reflects damage), or ultimate reload (which absorbs the bullet and gives +2 bullets). If you do not have an ultimate, reload and accept the trade only if you have lives to spare.
Shooting into ultimate reload absorbs your bullet and gifts the opponent +2 bullets. Always avoid shooting on a probable ultimate-reload turn; reload yourself or shield instead.
Auto-bullets (every 5 rounds) and ultimate grants are mutually exclusive to keep the resource curve clean. On R10, R30, R50 etc. you receive an ultimate but no free bullet.
